DOES SPRUCE MD TAKE INSURANCE?

Spruce MD does not accept any form of insurance. You can, however, use HSA and FSA dollars towards payments. Additionally, you can submit your invoice to your insurance provider. While we cannot guarantee they will apply costs of our services to your deductible, this has been successful for many patients.

WHY DO YOU NOT ACCEPT INSURANCE?

Spruce MD is a cash-based, direct primary care model clinic. This model gives you more time with your physician, access to discounted medications and a more personalized healthcare experience that is not available through traditional insurance-based models. Unfortunately, traditional health insurance does not currently reimburse for prolonged patient visits and integrative care that make Spruce MD unique.

WHICH MEMBERSHIP SHOULD I CHOSE?

If you are relatively healthy, the Comprehensive Membership is probably the right membership for you. People with chronic medical issues would likely benefit from the increased number of visits that come with the Enhanced Membership.

DOES SPRUCE MD SEE MEDICARE PATIENTS?

At this time, Spruce MD does not see Medicare patients. This is not our choice, but a result of government regulation. However, we do hope to be able to take Medicare patients in the future. If you are a Medicare patient, we suggest you sign up for our newsletter so that you know when this changes.

CAN A SPRUCE MD PROVIDER BE MY PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN?

Ye! Dr. Blankenship can act as your primary provider. Or, she can see you in consultation as a second opinion. There are some services such as women’s health exams and procedures that are not provided for which patients will be referred to specialists.

ARE LAB TEST COSTS COVERED IN MY MEMBERSHIP PLAN?

Customized labs are ordered for patients individually and are a separate cost. We are able to offer some discounted labs through our partner lab. Lab tests are optional and recommended on an individual basis. The cost of lab testing is often covered by insurance.

CAN I DROP BY THE CLINIC TO PICK UP SUPPLEMENTS?

Yes! If you wish to pick up supplements, we ask that you email your product requests to us and wait for a confirmation email before dropping by Serendipity Labs. This allows us time to ensure your items are ready and waiting for you with the Experience Coordinator at the front of the building.

DOES SPRUCE MD OFFER TELEMEDICINE APPOINTMENTS?

Yes!

I DON’T LIVE IN GREENVILLE, CAN I STILL BE A PATIENT?

Yes! Dr. Blankenship has medical licenses in South Carolina and Colorado. If you live in those two states you can be seen via telemedicine appointments. Otherwise, your first appointment must be in Greenville to establish care. Follow-up appointments, however, can occur through video consultation from anywhere!

ARE THERE FAMILY PLAN OPTIONS?

Yes! If one person in a household is a Spruce MD member, a second family member can sign up for membership at a discounted monthly rate.

WHAT IF I CHANGE MY MIND ABOUT MY MEMBERSHIP?

Memberships can be canceled free of charge before the initial visit. If you have been to an appointment(s) and elect to cancel your membership, you will be refunded a prorated amount based on the services used less a $250 cancellation fee.
